Valley of the Kings

Our final full day on the cruise boat, we arrived in the final destination of Luxor.  The off-shore excursion today was a visit to the West Bank of Luxor. This included a stop at The Valley of the Kings where we were able to enter the tombs of several pharoahs including Tutankhamun where we saw his mumified body.  Next we were off to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.

We decided to take a shortcut back by taking a boat back across the Nile to the East side. In keeping with the "five star" quality, we disembarked at one of the highest quality piers at Luxor. (featured below)

After lunch, we made our way to Luxor Temple and spent the late afternoon and sunset wandering through these extensive ruins.

In the evening, we visited a Sound and Light Show at the Temple of Karnak which told the stories behind the temple.
